ACIM Who is your “Favorite” savior?

ACIM Who is your "Favorite" savior?

I’ve been in Mexico for almost 4 months with many ACIM mighty companions. One of them, Beth, asked us to share stories about a “favorite” savior.  What follows is an excerpt of the letter I sent her.

How would I identify a “favorite” savior?   It feels like they appear every day now, even if at first the personal “I” doesn’t want to see the savior at first, yet somehow through grace there is a miracle.

One that comes to mind that feels helpful to share is a muslim man named Mamoud, who was selling guided tour trips. He lives in Jerusalem and I saw him almost every day that I was visiting the Garden Tomb– a very beautiful and miraculous place right outside of the Damascus Gate. Some feel this garden is where Jesus was entombed, with the crucifixion site viewable from the garden.

There was a lot of uncertainty in this trip to Jerusalem and a lot of trust building with Jesus. So many miracles– particularly in or right outside the Garden Tomb. Jesus was maximizing the symbols in form and showing me how much I deeply love Him as a symbol of myself.

I felt it in my heart to visit the Sea of Galilee (picture above) a second time and a travel companion, Jenny, who I meant in Jerusalem, wanted to swim in the Dead Sea.  The hotel had a guided tour, yet somehow it felt directed by the Holy Spirit to go with Mamoud and when we asked he offered to do the next day on his day off at a discount.

The morning of the tour I awoke in such a fluster- a lot of fear arising.  So much fear -“Is this the right thing?” and “I don’t know this man, he could take us anywhere.”  Yet in my heart I finally had to say — I want love over this fear and I’m going to go- no matter what happens.  So with some trepidation I shared these thoughts with Jenny and we both decided to go. Jenny also has a tremendous trust in following spirit- what a gift as a travel companion.

Mahmoud picked us up in a very nice Mercedes van, and we started driving toward Tel Aviv. Wow so many thoughts were flying- as I looked in my bag – I realized I forgot my map of the holy land.  No map, no contact information, no idea exactly where we were going.  I was in the front and Jenny in the back seat suddenly bursts out with my thought, ‘I thought you were going to take us somewhere to kill us.’ This is funny now, and at the time it really just cleared a lot of tension.  Mamoud laughed and kept driving, past all the guns and security checkpoints between fenced areas of Israel as we headed north for a day tour of the holy land stopping at a beautiful overlook of the Mediterranean Sea near Tel Aviv/Haifa, the Sea of Galilee, Dead sea– many beautiful overlooks.  I think I held my breath many times as we were driving as other thoughts of uncertainty arose, yet at the same time a love and appreciation arose for Mamoud. Mamoud seemed generally interested in what we wanted to see and brought us to many places.  It was quite the adventure and we returned late in the afternoon to Jerusalem.

Mamoud expressed interest in a overnight trip to a hotel in the north, which I declined and there was a lot of healing around this this too.  Even though I felt so much love and attraction it didn’t feel in purpose and perhaps there was still some fear of being alone with him…I suppose that is to be looked at for healing. I can hear the judgement thoughts ‘it felt risky/unsafe/unwise’.

This trip helped me see so many judgments still in the mind around traveling alone, ideas about being in “foreign countries”, “not knowing where I am going”,  and Muslims (“seeming other races, “‘others’ different from myself” ) and at the same time I was feeling all this love for this man.  How helpful to see how lovingly and safely we are carried when we follow the prompt, even when the wrong mind has other ideas.

It was so beautiful to look at this again to see the miracles– clearing any remaining judgement thoughts.  It touches my heart. So much love and gratitude.

In gratitude and love always,

Cay

ACIM: Proof of God or the Ego?

ACIM: Proof of God or the Ego?

Dear Beloved,

I posted this out on Facebook today.  So much joy in following the Holy Spirit and listening to Jesus. There were so many ideas about sacrifice and to see that there is joy in this great gift of following - not for 'anyone else', as there is no one else. Just Love celebrating and celebrating. There's no one to teach and no one to learn.  Just what is, happiness as identity. How precious.

Sometimes it may feel like shredding, burning, yelling, screaming, yet all is given for this- to see what is true, to see what is untouched by any shredding, burning, screaming, yelling, pain or suffering that seems to be happening in this world.  All these only temporary denials of what is always true- unborn nature - what is 'before' anything that arises in form.  What proof is there that the ego exists?  This contemplation is pure happiness.

Here's the quote from the course that came in today -

The peace of God is shining in you now, and in all living things.

ACIM Lession 189, paragraph 5.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jesus.

In gratitude and love always,

Cay

Mystical Bible supports ACIM

Mystical Bible supports ACIM

Dear Beloveds,

Last year a friend sent me a beautiful book he wrote about "Heaven on Earth." He used many beautiful references and incredibly beautiful quotes to support that God is loving. It is really wonderful to recognize and celebrate that God is loving. At the same time the book included references to the need to re-incarnate for the "soul to develop".  My friend and I have spoken for many years about deep mystical topics- it has been a blessing to have him in my life. I was inspired to write a letter in response to his book without using specific references to ACIM as he was unfamiliar with the teachings. Instead, I shared some mystical teachings from the Bible that are so profound and parallel the teachings of the course- they just sing in my heart. Many quotes come from an English translation of the Aramaic bible that has many gems not found in other bibles. Most of the online site is now down, however John 1:9 is still out there if you want to take a look! Aramaic to English Bible, John 1.  The letter may have some references to other non dual teachings.

Such joy.

My brother asked me for a copy of the letter, so I thought I would share it with all my brothers. The letter can be found here: Dear belovedFriend.

Deep gratitude to Jesus for the power of His teachings. It took a LOT of convincing, and I'm so glad that He inspires us all to find our way home. Godspeed is truly in the joining. What a celebration this is.  Amen.

In love always,

Cay

The second is a short summary of ACIM for students of non-dual teachings- ACIM for non-dual students.  I'm grateful for the assignment from Jesus to write it.  Everything reinforces that there is no "other", everything here is in celebration of the One- this great love.

Enjoy and feel free to share as guided.

In gratitude and love always, Cay

Join with Love Through Music!

lavernealhelenaIt has been beautiful joining with Al, Laverne, and Helena for these last two weeks!  We've watched many movies and they shared the new album, Our Daily Bread that Al and Helena have been in collaboration to produce.  Wow, the heart sings when this music is heard and the mind is recognizing how stunning it is to join with love through music. The Open Heart is a group of musicians who collaborate in holy purpose to extend love through Holy Spirit inspired music and music videos. [Open Heart] This dedication to serve the purpose of love has resulted in songs that foster a deeply transcendent experience. Here's one of my favorites, Dear Self.  The sounds and words captivate: I find myself humming, "God is love, love is God, love is the joy of remembering".

And here is a you tube video of a 3 year old, Aliyah, extending the light. She loves the music and sings it too!

Adorable!

The band intended to provide a collection of songs as a daily reminder of peace and joy offered by Spirit and it flows through easily with the music.  ACIM promises that this can be easy and it feels like this album is an answer to that prayer.  It brings together songs songs from earlier albums Holy Relationship, Journey Inward, Ambience, and Sharing the Joy!, as well as some new tracks.  The tracks are beautifully expressed in a variety of contemporary styles including rap, blues, electronic, devotional and ambient and that feels really helpful for unwinding ideas about what spirituality and "spiritual music" look like.   This ACIM inspired music is a touching journey with Spirit to open the heart and remember the song of joy every day.

It's such a beautiful reminder that the heart can be lifted easily to join with love with the power of music from The Open Heart’s new album, Our Daily Bread. [link to album and sample tracks]

They're heading out to the east coast today, then south toward Florida. So if you might be feeling a visit from them and/or host a gathering like this one in Madison: FlyerTuesdayMovieGatheringMadison, by all means extend them a warm invitation.  You can also reach them on Facebook.

Love and gratitude to Al, Laverne, and Helena.  These two weeks have been precious.

Cay
